South Essex Insurance Brokers (SEIB) will celebrate their 50th anniversary with a 1,000 mile charity cycle ride from John O’Groats to Lands End in aid of the children’s cancer charity, CLIC Sargent.

The ride, which takes place from 12 - 21 July, will be undertaken by members of staff who will visit key customers and associates en route.

The ride has a personal significance to SEIB IT manager, Andy Davies, whose six-year- old son, Aston, was diagnosed with suspected leukaemia and spent time at the Royal Marsden hospital undergoing tests.  "Thankfully Aston is OK, but I saw so many parents and children that were not so lucky.  I feel strongly about doing this ride to raise money for the CLIC Sargent charity", says Andy.  "Every 24 hours 10 children and young people are diagnosed with cancer and CLIC Sargent is the only charity that offers all round care and support to them and their families."

To mark the company’s 50th anniversary, the team will be visiting 10 – 15 key associates en route during the ride, including Osbaldeston EC in Lancashire, as well as the British Horse Society and British Riding Clubs headquarters.

SEIB charity cycle route:

12 July – John O’Groats to Dingwall

13 July – Dingwall to Fort William

14 July – Fort William to Dumbarton

15 July – Dumbarton to Dumfries

16 July – Dumfries to Lancaster

17 July – Lancaster to Oswestry

18 July – Oswestry to Solihull

The team will have a support vehicle, a minibus provided by Proximo, which will carry their luggage and supplies, as well as providing regular social media updates during the ride.
