Global Champions Tour unveils evening of top dressage in London

This week’s London leg of the Longines Global Champions Tour will feature a special "evening of dressage" on Saturday 8 June at The International Quarter, Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in Stratford.

Designed to showcase the sport that won Olympic team gold and individual gold and bronze medals at London 2012, the evening will feature a unique pas des deux performed Charlotte Dujardin and Laura Bechtolsheimer.

The evening will begin with an explanation of dressage with two grand prix horses ridden by international riders Andrew Gould and Kirsty Mepham. This will be followed by five riders presenting their grand prix freestyle to music routines as performed at international competitions, featuring Amy Stovold, Dan Sherriff, Bobby Hayler, Michael Eilberg and Roland Tong

This will be followed by the GCT quadrille display, with Andrew Gould, Daniel Timson, Bobby Hayler, Amy Woodhead, Matt Hicks, Suzanne Lavandera, Paul Hayler and Kirsty Mepham.

Event director, Peter Phillips says "We always wanted dressage to play a part in the London leg of the Longines Global Champions Tour and I am delighted that we have managed to organize this. It should be a great spectacle and the perfect way to finish off an extraordinary day of competition on Saturday 8th June."
