The Equilibrium panel of judges, including included British eventing team chef d’equipe Richard Waygood MBE and equine nutritionist  Ruth Bishop, chose Samantha from the  three shortlisted riders including 12-year-old para dressage rider, Izzy Palmer and young show jumper, Jasmine Punter.

The judges said, "Our decision wasn’t an easy one as we felt that all three riders shortlisted were worthy of this title and deserve recognition for their talents. However, Samantha clearly impressed us with her dedication and hard work as a serious amateur working to the best of her ability with great success."

Laura Cutter, marketing manager at Equilibrium says: "Samantha has aimed high with a determination to have horses in her life in a serious way and we are delighted to be able to support her in achieving her goals."
