British para-drivers won team bronze medal at the Para Equestrian World Championships, held at Breda in Holland.

Team members Lucy Barclay from Lincolnshire (pictured left), Deborah Daniel from Shropshire and Mick Ward from Leicestershire, finished well clear of USA, holding onto their third position following the dressage phase.

Lucy Barclay and her Connemara/Thoroughbred Barntown put in the performance of their lives to finish fifth individually.

Mick Ward and Angela Flanagan’s part-bred Welsh cob Double Cream finishing ninth individually. Deborah Daniel and her own Welsh cob Section C Valeside Galaxy encounted a correction of course in Obstacle 2 dropped them down the order.

Driving as an individual with her Welsh cob Section D London Jack Flash, Lindsey Paice put up a fine performance to finish in 16th place overall.

Chef d’equipe Rachel Belliere-Wilson said: "The atmosphere and the entire Breda event were bigger than the Olympic stage at Greenwich, and the occasion no less grand. The whole team put up a fantastic performance; neither Mick nor Lucy was over-awed for this, their first international appearance, and both upped their game to put in personal best performances. Equally, Debbie’s young pony put in an amazing performance given the atmosphere and occasion. They all united well as a team and did the most incredible job".
