British Eventing seeks new sponsor for 2013 Young Horse series

British Eventing is looking for a new sponsor for its Young Horse series and championships from 2013.

Former series sponsors Lycetts, an independently operated rural insurance broker, has supported this prestigious showcase of future talent over the past four years, but has made the decision to diversify their sponsorship.

The series sees qualifiers held throughout the season for four-and –five-year-old horses, with championships held at Osberton for four, five, six and seven-year-olds.

The six and seven-year-old championships are run as international classes.

Mike Etherington-Smith, BE’s chief executive said: "The support that Lycetts brought to the young horse series has played an integral part in boosting the profile of this important series for event horse breeding. Their boundless enthusiasm at qualifying events and the championships at Osberton will be sadly missed."

Former champions from the series include Billy Landretti, who was successful for Pippa Funnell at 3* level, including Hartpury and Chatsworth; Flying Machine who went on to win Blenheim’s 8/9 CIC3* class and fourth at Luhmühlen with Piggy French. Granntevka Prince was also a Young Horse Champion and is now competing four-star with Lucy Wiegersma having recently completed Burghley. Another former Young Horse Champion is William Fox-Pitt’s four star ride, Chilli Morning, who was fourth at Pau in October.

British Eventing is seeking new sponsorship for this popular breeding series.
