Rogers Revenge Takes Racehorse Title

Rogers Revenge has taken the 2012 title of South Essex Insurance Brokers Racehorse to Riding Horse Championship.

The 7 year old has returned to showing after a season eventing last year, but is no stranger to the Caldene arena, having stood second in this class in 2010. Ridden beautifully by Vicky Smart, he kept a cool head and coped with the electric atmosphere in the arena, giving ride judge, David Bartram, a smooth and calm ride.

Owned and bred by Vicky and Bryan Smart, Rogers Revenge was foaled at a stud near Ripon and the Smarts till own his dam. He ran twice over 6 and 7 furlongs in 2008 but a career in the show-ring beckoned. Vicky started his retraining in 2008, but had to take him out of the racing atmosphere as he would not settle with everything else going on around the yard.

Reserve went to Helen Newbold from Milton Keynes riding Jason Newbold’s Deep Reflection.
