Saddle up Yorkshire - The HLC Challenge is on
Enthusiastic riders from all over Yorkshire return to the magnificent Main Arena of the Great Yorkshire Showground for the HLC (Harrogate Ladies’ College) Equestrian Team Challenge 2011.

Sunday, 25 September will see the return of one of the most exciting equestrian events in Yorkshire, with 48 teams, each comprising four riders and horses, competing for a coveted place on the podium. The HLC Equestrian Team Challenge sets a high standard, with approved course builders setting up professional show jumps, official BSJA judges and the instantly recognisable voice of Christine Barber, who is a former pupil of HLC and one of the commentators at The Great Yorkshire Show. Medical and veterinary care is of the highest standard, with a farrier and a saddlery supplier also on site.

The junior competition takes place between 9am and 1pm and the senior competition takes place from 2pm to 6pm. Refreshments will be available throughout the day and a diligent team of HLC girls will be acting as runners, the arena party and rosette presenters.

Entry is free, although a £1 donation for a programme is requested which goes directly to Riding for the Disabled who will have a stall there on the day.
