Equissage-sponsored Piggy French and her Olympic test event winner DHI Topper W finished in first place at the CCI*** at the Fidelity Investments Blenheim Horse Trials.

After the cross country Piggy was in first and second place with Lemmington Lett Dance and DHI Topper W, respectively.

Piggy then had to withdraw her cross country leader, but DHI Topper W’s performance proved to be ample compensation.

"Obviously it would have been nice to have had both horses jumping today, but I'm so proud of Topper," said an elated Piggy.

DHI Topper W, owned by her father Wally French and Michael Underwood, only knocked one fence down in the showjumping phase to secure Piggy’s victory over American rising star Tiana Coudray, second, and Germany’s Bettina Hoy, third.

Said Piggy: "He is definitely a horse for the future. The four faults was my fault as I was so nervous.

"We have always thought very highly of Topper – Greenwich 2012 now feels a very distinct possibility."

Piggy’s Blenheim win is her first three-day-event victory at CCI*** and is the icing on the cake after a fantastic year, highlights of which include winning the Olympic test event, finishing Badminton as runner-up and being a member of Great Britain's European Championship bronze medal-winning team.
