Twilight Holds Onto Her Unbeaten Record

Following a hugely successful 2010 season, the part-bred Cleveland Bay filly, Hawlmark Classic Twilight, has continued her unbeaten success in hunter classes  into this year.

Owned and bred by Ripon-based Cleveland Bay and Sport Horse breeders, Sue and Nigel Cowgill, the filly is being successfully shown this season by well known show producer, Peter Richmond.

By the Sport Horse stallion, Classic, and out of a home-bred pure Cleveland Bay Premium mare, Highpasture Hawlmark, Twilight was the first ever part-bred Cleveland Bay to be awarded a BEF Futurity First Premium in eventing. In 2010 Twilight received an award from Sports Horse GB relating to her wins in two-year- old Hunter Filly classes.

This season has seen her win at Newark and Nottinghamshire County Show and the Royal Highland and she took the Championships at Otley, Hambleton and North Yorkshire County shows. She was also recently awarded the Hunter Youngstock, Supreme Championship and ‘The Best of Yorkshire Breeding’ at the Yorkshire Sport Horse Show.

Said owner and breeder,Nigel Cowgill:  "We were delighted to have had such a successful 2010 season with Twilight, but she has really eclipsed it this year. Her dam was Champion Cleveland Bay at the Great Yorkshire Show but then contracted and thankfully survived Equine Grass Sickness, so her foals are very special to us. We hope Twilight’s successful 2011 season will continue."
