Following the success of its first International equine competition – the 2010 European Pony Championships; Bishop Burton College is set to host its second International – a CPEDI 1*/2*/YJ which will see Para Dressage riders from across the globe descend on the College – many for their first taste of competing at this level.

The event will run at the College from 22nd – 24th July.

The Competition, which started as a Junior Para Dressage event in 2006, was previously held in Somerset but this year will be held in East Yorkshire, attracting some of the world’s most talented Para Equestrian athletes to the area.

A spokesperson for British Dressage explained: "It’s a vital competition in terms of the development for our younger riders and those looking to be on teams in the future – for many, it’s their first taste of international competition.

World Class riders who will be competing at the event include Alex McNamara, Georgia Wilson and Natasha Adkinson of Bawtry, South Yorkshire.

This is an opportunity for visitors to the event to see athletes take their first step on their way to becoming future Paralympic champions.
