Britain’s top International endurance riders will be heading to Exmoor on 15th, 16th & 17th May to take part in the Golden Horseshoe Ride in the lead up to the European Championships later this year.

Elite performance squad riders including Karen Jones and Tricia Hurst as well as World Equestrian Games British Team members, Christine Yeoman and David Yeoman, will be participating in the Golden Horseshoe Ride which takes place over the challenging Exmoor terrain and will also be attended by team selectors. The ride will provide valuable preparation for these combinations prior to the European Championships, the main target for the British Endurance Team during 2011, to be held in Florac, France in September.

Christine Yeoman, riding ZT Richshakfy, and her brother-in-law David Yeoman, riding Mon Talisman, will both contend the 2-day Competitive Ride over 120km, while Karen Jones, riding Indian Princess, and Tricia Hurst, riding Vlacq Diamond Sparkle, will take part in the 2-day Competitive Ride over 80km.

With its demanding hills and varied terrain, the Golden Horseshoe is renowned as one of the most challenging rides on the endurance calendar and is seen as a true test of stamina, fitness and horsemanship.
