The Endurance GB selectors have announced the team that have been selected from the World Class Start Squad to travel to Mont Le Soie on 30th April to represent Great Britain in the 120km FEI 2* competition.

The team will be:

Fiona Griffiths and Dear Kate

Lindsey Comben and Radhwan

Andrea Champ and Driumghiga Luxor

Sue Higgins and Aberllywds Another Rose

Annie Ings and Alpha

Alex Freaks and Maresha

In addition, four members of the World Class Potential Squad will travel with the team to compete as individuals. These will be:

Rachael Atkinson and Vanash

Claire Bruce and Ah Diba

Sue Rich and Czako

Lesley-Ann Parker and Velvet Echo

Whilst supporting those not so experienced combinations, this gives the Potential Squad members the chance to obtain further FEI qualifications to progress their elevation to the Elite Squad. Young Rider Squad Member, Louise Rich, will also take her horse, Cziko, to compete in the YR 120 2* event.

All the team members will compete under the guidance of the Management Team, including the experienced Chef d’equipe, Andrea Baker and Team Manager, Stevie Martin, as well as the team vet, physio and farrier, who offer a wealth of knowledge and experience to support the riders.

Di Latham, Chairman of EGB selectors said, "This trip will encompass members of the World Class Start, Potential and Young Rider Squads all travelling and competing together which is a huge step in the right direction to get all the Squads working together."

The British Endurance World Class Start and Potential Squads were formed at the end of 2010 to help riders who are hoping to qualify for the Elite Squad, and to be considered, they must have completed at least two 80km rides at a speed of 16kph within the last 24 months. The Management Team assesses and prepares horse and rider combinations on the squad to complete FEI 1, 2 and 3* rides. Combinations are assessed and targeted to qualify for the Elite Squad, with the aim of preparing horse and rider for specific championships.
