WEG dressage: Britain claims team silver
The British dressage team - Laura Bechtolsheimer and Mistral Hojris, Carl Hester and Liebling II, Maria Eilberg and Two Sox and Fiona Bigwood with Wie Atlantico – have won team silver ahead of Germany at the World Equestrian Games in Kentucky. Laura scored a personal best with 82.511, just two percent behind Dutch team gold medallist Edward Gal and Moorlands Totilas,
"Even before I started my test, my team mates had given me a real boost with their performances," said Laura. "Mistral Horjis found it easy from start to finish with no mistakes. He amazes me that he’s so extravagant but still stays relaxed. He travelled well here and has been working in seventh gear ever since we arrived! I was just hoping I had him right for today and I guess I did."
The top 30 competitors including all four of the British team members now go forward to ride in the grand prix special competition today (Wednesday 29 September).
Results of grand prix team competition:
1. NED - 229.745
2. GBR - 224.76
3. GER - 220.59
