Totilas wins World Cup
The dynamic Dutch duo Edward Gal and the super-star stallion Moorlands Totilas claimed the 25th anniversary FEI World Cup Dressage title in s'Hertogenbosch scoring 89.98% in the final day’s grand prix kur.
Although tipped to win, the Gribaldi breeding stallion was beaten in Thursday’s grand prix by fellow Dutch rider Adelinde Cornelissen and Jerich Parzival, but Totilas was back on form last night taking the freestyle by nearly 7 percent.
"I know he's special and he deserves to win, and on Thursday I was so upset for him and so surprised when he was tense because he's not usually like that. The thing about him is that he has so much power, and sometimes he can use it against you. Today he worked with me instead and I am very, very happy!" said Edward.
It was a Dutch triumph with riders taking the first three places on 80 percent plus scores.
Adelinde Cornelissen and Jerich Parzival were second with 82.85% while Imke Schellekens-Bartels and Hunter Douglas Sunrise were third place on 82.15%
