Katie Clark, the 27-year-old British Grooms Association cover girl from Suffolk, is preparing to take part in the 26 mile Shine Marathon to raise money for Cancer Research.
Katie has suffered from Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, a cancer of the lymphatic system and after relapsing for the third time is now in remission and currently concentrating on building up her strength in time for this gruelling challenge.
The Shine Marathon takes place in Manchester, on 17 of April, and runs through the night from 10pm.
"I am excited about the marathon but also quite worried as it's a very long way," said Katie. "This is a huge challenge but the charity is very important to me and I feel I owe my life to them.
"The charity is close to my heart as I have been fighting Hodgkin’s disease since 2005. I have had to have many different treatments, including chemotherapy, radiotherapy and a stem cell autograph and a stem cell transplant, all of these I know would not be available if it wasn't for Cancer Research."
