Thistledown M&M Working Hunter Pony championship winner: Sarah Challinor and Pumphill Buckthorn
The Cuddy in-hand championship on day two of HOYS resulted in an unprecedented family triumph after father and son Alan and Simon Charlesworth fought out the title.
Simon eventually captured the championship with the Java Tiger broodmare Catwalk While Alan had to settle for reserve with the elegant riding pony Scallywag II.
After taking their hunter weight class earlier in the show, Katie Jerram and Dunbeacon were again foot-perfect to head the line in the Mobile phones 4 Business Ladies’ Hunters and the Essex-based rider/producer came close to victory on another two occasions.
In the SEIB Racehorse to Riding Horse, Katie and Night Prayers finished runners-up to Sonya Fitch-Peyton and Blue Java, a five-time winner when he raced on the flat, then it was on to the Topham Barnes Hack of the Year. The judges eventually awarded the title to the large class winners, Michaela Wood and Royal Angel, with Katie reserve on the small winner, Golden Gunner.
Eloise Pinnock and the little Dartmoor lead-rein pony Ekens Fifer took the Brineton Colne mini mountain and moorland title, while the Thistledown M&M Working Hunter Pony championship provided a second title of the show for the fabulous combination of Sarah Challinor and Pumphill Buckthorn
