New year honours for equestrians
Two equestrians have been rewarded with MBEs in this year’s New Year’s Honours list.

Sheila Layton, founder of the Contessa Riding Centre in Hertfordshire, has been an integral part of the centre since it opened in 1977. She now runs it with her daughter Tina Layton-Elliott, a successful dressage rider/trainer.
William "Billy" Roulston, from Coleraine, Londonderry, has been honoured for his services to equestrian sport in Northern Ireland.
Billy, a show jumping judge for many years, is chairman of the Causeway Coast Charity Showjumpers, whose shows raise funds for good causes.
