Early days and career highlights

Take It 2 the Limit was bred by Gerard Sabatier in France.  Originally named "Principal’s Motto", he was hand-picked by Olympic gold-medallist Leslie Law in 2004 after Hartpury College decided to invest in a top quality stallion to promote their Home Farm Stud.

Leslie, who went on to train and compete him in 2005 (being placed fourth in the final of the Winergy Burghley Young Event Horse and third in the final of the PAVO British Breeding Championships), was charged with  finding a talented young horse with potential to go on to advanced level.

In 2005, Leslie Law summed up his ride, saying:  "He’s one of the nicest youngsters I’ve ever had. His jump is to die for and he has the right paces and attitude to go with it."

When Leslie relocated to USA, Jeanette Brakewell took over the ride in 2006 and established a successful partnership -- having stepped up to advanced level, the combination ended the 2009 season with 209 BE point.

Other highlights have been placings at Tattersalls **, Boekelo CCI***, Aston-Le-Walls and at the Mitsubishi Motors Hartpury Horse Trials CIC3*.  Take It 2 The Limit ended 2010 with 281 BE points.
